The 1920s dance video…
In the 1920’s, the flappers were a bunch of young girls who were rebellious to the old customs. They loved to listen to jazz music. They loved to go to the clubs to dance and drink. Among their other sins, they smoked and treated sex lightly. They were known as the wild girls.
Driving automobiles and wearing short dresses, wearing excessive makeup, bobbing their hair and flaunting their rebellions. They were liberal for this time period. They were being known as attractive and independent girls.
Travel back to the roaring 20’s when dames would snuggle up to their honeys in the rumble seat of a model A ford. They were dancing the Charleston at all of the parties. The girls would get all dolled up and go out with their favorite man on the town. After the First World War there was prosperity and there was at the same time a higher level of organized crime. Prohibition was going on at this time. This is where the use of alcohol was prohibited. Legal saloons were being closed so the back alley speakeasy came into being.
So the term flapper came into being for these independent young girls that flaunted their cigarette smoking, drinking and sexual behavior. Prohibition was the ban put on the making and sale of liquor. There was riches to be made if you were willing to bootleg whiskey. There was a lack of morality in that time period and a decadence that was not there before the war.
